TUSCHINSKI
Tuschinski will reprise their successful performance at the Badhuistheater. The piece is based on the book “Out of love, mister Tuschinski” by Tanya Commandeur. Tuschinski is an ode to Abraham Tuschinski and edited by Erris van Ginkel. The story is set in the first four decades of the 20th century. A time of two world wars, a time of crisis. But also a time of lightness and new wonders: the rise of the medium of film. It is the time when Tuschinski and two brothers-in-law completely changed the entertainment world of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. They put film on the map. They transform cinemas from bare backstage rooms to warm, inviting theatres with plush, red carpets and above all no pillars. The performances are in Dutch. More information on the theatre website.
