The Nutcracker
The Nutcracker in Amsterdam during the Christmas festivities. What a glorious way to start the year. The world-famous Bolshoi State ballet of Belarus will set the stage alight with a fine performance of this excellent ballet. It is the timeless and magical story of Clara and her toy nutcracker as they fight the unhappy mice during the night. Of course, as often happens, he turns into a handsome prince. The ballet dates back to 1892 and the Tchaikovsky’s music is still famous the world over. The decors and the costumes come from the Russian national opera. Make no mistake, this is a magical event in many ways. There are only two performances of The Nutcracker: Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. See the Carre site for ticket details.
