Long Live Rembrandt
Long Live Rembrandt is a very special exhibition in the Rijkmuseum. It is a part of the celebrations of 350 years since the great artist’s death. Over 8000 creative people from across the world sent art works. A team of experts made a final selection of 575 pieces. You can now see these and it is fantastic to view what the public created. There are many variations on the Nightwatch. There are many portraits where the subjects are painted in the style of Rembrandt. Another theme is Rembrandt the storyteller. There are some wonderful reworkings of his classic works. The artists range from 4 years old to over 90. What an honour for them ! It is a joy to see. You can get more information here.
