Frans Hals and the Moderns
The Frans Hals Museum is a must. Like Rembrandt, hugely under appreciated during his lifetime, he was ‘rediscovered’ as an art great over two hundred years after his death. Many of the 19th century painters adored his work, such as Manet and Van Gogh.
He went on to have a massive influence on the ‘modern’ painters.
Over 80 paintings on show.
NB: This takes place at the Hof of the museum.
